Repeat Prescriptions

 During the CORONOVIRUS PANDEMIC:

Please do not try to bulk order medication early, also we can only accept telephone medication requests in exceptional circumstances. Rescue packs of antibiotics are only given to patients who have previously been recognised as needing these.

Patients on long-term medication can order repeat prescriptions in a number of ways:multicolour_pills

  • In person -  Prescription requests should be made through your usual Pharmacy or by posting in the red pillar box in the foyer of Pontypool     Medical Centre or the black post box outside the pedestrian gate entrance at New Inn Medical Centre.

  • By post - send it to us with a stamped addressed envelope if you’d like us to post it back to you.
  • By fax  - to 01495 767895 (Mount patients) or 01495 757149 (New Inn patients).
  • MHOL -  pick up a registration form from reception and order online

Local pharmacies also offer a collection service and will collect prescriptions from the surgery. However, you must sign a card, held by the pharmacist, to authorise the collection. 72 hours is required for this service.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse or pharmacist at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
